Who Can Join the Super Touring Championship?

We’ve had some questions cross our desk about the upcoming Super Touring Championship and thought we’d answer the more popular ones in a post. So, here we go!

Q: Who can join the STC?
A: ANYONE! You can be a novice or seasoned driver, the STC is open to everyone!

Q: Do I need to be on a team?
A: Absolutely not! The STC is modeled after the real Australian V8 Super Car Series and, while the Team aspect is a fun addition, you can enter as a privateer to do battle on the track!

Q: Do I need to compete for Championship points?
A: Yes and no. Yes, if you show up with a car to have a good time, you will accrue points simply because you’re in attendance. However, if you only choose to run one race, do so and HAVE FUN! There’s no pressure to attend every race for Championship points. Of course, after you run one event, you’ll have such a good time you’ll be kicking yourself that you DIDN’T attend all the races!

Q: Do I need a competition livery to run in the STC?
A: For the sake of scale Spec racing, we do encourage everyone to have a competition livery. For one, it looks cool in pictures! Secondly, since the ST550 comes with a cool theme, EVERYONE’s car will have that theme unless you change it out. This could be challenging to pick our your car in a pileup, so a custom livery is highly recommended. However, we won’t turn anyone away for having the stock body – we’re here to have a good time!

Q: Can I join the Series at any time for Championship points?
A: Of course! The first Season will be a 6-race Series that will include at least 1 throwout. So, if you miss the first race, you can always get a car and join us for the remainder of the Season – AND collect points!
