SCORING SYSTEM

The Super Touring Championship uses a similar scoring system to that of the V8 Supercars. Each Session (on each race day) is scored separately with drivers accruing points that tally for an overall winner of the event.

Please note: These rules are still in the preliminary stage.

Scoring

The scoring system is based on which race Format is being used.

Format 1: Short Sprint Race
1st – 50pts
2nd – 49pts
3rd – 48pts
4th – 47pts
5th – 46pts
etc.

Format 2: Long Sprint Race
1st – 100pts
2nd – 99pts
3rd – 98pts
4th – 97pts
5th – 96pts
etc.

Format 3: Endurance Race
1st – 150pts
2nd – 149pts
3rd – 148pts
4th – 147pts
5th – 146pts
etc.

Points are assessed to all the racers after each full race Main has concluded. It is possible for a Group B or C driver to win the Session if their overall race time is faster than the racers in Group A.

Qualifying

In addition to the standard points, one (1) additional point will be awarded to the driver that secures Pole Position for the first race.

Tie Breaker

Should there be a tie in driver points at the end of the day, we will use your best finishing position in the final Session as the tie breaker. If there is still a tie, we will use the 1st Session as the tie breaker.

Throwouts

STC throwout system is based on the number of races in each Season. It is designed to allow drivers a chance to win the overall should they have a bad race, family emergency, etc. The number of throwouts will be announced at the beginning of each Season.
