The
Super Touring Championship is all about the Spec racing - keeping the cars as equal in performance as possible. That being said, they must be raced out of the box as supplied by the manufacturer with only a few minor upgrades allowed as outlined below.
Please note: These rules are still in the preliminary stage.
Chassis
While the official Team Associated ST550 is the vehicle we are basing the Series on, there are other versions of the car that will be allowed to compete as long as they comply with the full STC ruleset, including the use of the ST550 body, etc.
Those chassis' include:
#30126
Team Associated Apex2 Sport A550 Rally Car
#30129
Team Associated Apex2 Sport Datsun 240Z
#30128
Team Associated Apex2 Sport Nissan Z
Body
The stock ST550 body is required in the Super Touring Championship. The pre-painted RTR body can be used or a custom-painted version. While we encourage a cool V8 Supercar livery, any painted livery is allowed in the Series.
The stock body details (side mirrors, windshield wiper and rear wing) must be mounted per the manufacturer's instructions (top antenna does not need to be installed). Certain 'body detail' stickers must also be used - this includes the following:
• Front Lights
• Upper and Lower Front Grille
• Rear Lights
We are trying to keep this as scale as possible so the more detail, the better.
If you signed up for a permanent driver number, it must be posted on both the right and left rear windows (see inset photo). Driver name is optional.

Wheels and Tires
Since the stock tires leave a bit to be desired in the form of grip, we are allowing an upgrade tire in the STC. These are the Ride 26mm Radial Pre-Mount Tires. They are available with a 7-spoke wheel in either black or white.

Stock Radio System
For the first Season of the STC, we will only be allowing the use of the stock RTR radio. If the Series demands it, we will allow upgrades in the following Seasons.
This will help keep the costs under control with no advantages to those with a replacement radio system.
Servo Replacement
We will be allowing the installation of an upgrade servo in the STC. It can be any standard or low profile unit that continues to utilize the stock servo mounts and top-mounted ESC platform. The ESC and receiver MUST remain in their stock locations.
For those that want a great performing budget servo, we suggest either of the following:
Hitec HS-5585MH Metal Gear High Torque Standard Servo
Hitec DB777WP High Voltage Low-Profile Servo
Motor
The stock Reedy Sport 550 15T 3-Slot Brushed Motor must be used in your ST550 (with the official label attached). The bullet plugs can be removed and hardwired to the motor, however you must use the stock ESC wires. The motor cannot be opened to make any internal modifications.
Optional motors may be purchased to replace the kit one, but must be the official Reedy 27467 motor.

Gearing
Both the pinion and spur gear can be changed to alter the speed of the Apex2 for specific track layouts. The gearing uses the same 48P spur gears as the RC10B74, the options being a 72T and a 78T.
You can use any 48P pinion.

Shocks
We will be allowing the use of upgrade shocks in the
STC, however they
MUST be the plastic, threaded equivalents of the stock shocks (see part numbers below). You may also change the fluid, piston and springs, but the parts must be designed to fit the #31866 or #31926 shock bodies (no mish-mash cobbled shock setups will be allowed).

Bearings
The Apex2 Sport comes with a full set of Oilite bushings (except for two ball bearings around the center differential). To help increase performance, you may install a full set of bearings from any manufacturer.
You can purchase the bearings individually from Team Associated or pick up a full set from Fast Eddy Bearings (this is the easier way to go).

Differentials
The stock differentials must be used in the STC Series in both the front and rear of the car. Fluid can be added to tune them, however the end result must have differential movement. No spools will be allowed.
The center differential comes stock with a lockout insert. It must retain this insert in the STC - no fluid-filled differentials will be allowed at this time.
Reedy Program Card
We are allowing the Reedy Program Card. It can be used to adjust the following minor settings in the ESC:
• Initial Drive
• Low-Voltage Cutoff
• Drag Brake
• Max Reverse Power
• Punch Control
Reverse cannot be locked out however we suggest setting it to 50%.

Additional Information
• Battery
Any standard or shorty 2S LiPo can be used to power the ST550. The connector on both the battery and ESC can be changed out to one of your choice.
• Battery Max Voltage
Due to safety reasons, all LiPo batteries in the STC cannot exceed a max peak voltage of 8.44v. Spot checks will be done if there is any indication that someone is blasting their batteries.
• Minimum Weight
TBA
• Driving Aids:
No driving aids of any kind are allowed in the STC.
Additional Team Associated Parts
Because we are trying to keep costs down, some parts that are available will not be allowed in the first Season:
31927 Team Associated Factory Team Anti-Roll Bar Set
31928 Team Associated Factory Team Turnbuckle Set
Please Note: Any vehicle deemed illegal during the post-race inspection is subject to a disqualification (DQ) for that round.
